About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Trade and Investment Officer to join our team at The State of Queensland. As a key member of our global business agency, you will play a critical role in elevating Queensland's presence on the world stage and driving commercial outcomes for our state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global Business Development: Directly engage with international investors and entities to provide expert advice and support to achieve successful investment outcomes and coordinate the delivery of investment facilitation services to international investors.
  • Team Leadership: Manage team resources under guidance of the Director to lead and manage the planning, delivery, reporting and budget management for key sector projects to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Directly engage with and other relevant stakeholders and provide high-quality specialist advice to help them to succeed in export markets.
  • Relationship Building: Successfully engage across local, state, and federal government and industry and across cultures to build relationships and collaboration to deliver on the priorities in the Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy.
  • Client Management: Manage a portfolio of key clients to ensure KPI targets are met, and future pipelines of clients are developed utilising TIQ's CRM and tools, and regularly report business outcomes to Senior Management.
  • Research and Policy Development: Undertake research and develop policy papers, briefs and reports for management review and consideration to support the team in taking forward its priority sectors.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.
