
Culturally Sensitive Care Specialist

This role involves working with service delivery teams to provide culturally safe care and support for Aboriginal Children and Young People.
The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of culturally sensitive services, continually support and refine cultural planning processes, and provide guidance on culturally appropriate ways of working with children and young people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
The key responsibilities include:
- Providing consultation and engagement with team members, Aboriginal Peoples, and relevant community organizations
- Supporting staff capability via cultural reflection and coaching, including planning and contributing to training resources
- Developing cultural plans, including supporting contact/connections with kin, community, and stakeholders
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, as well as lived experience or knowledge around social determinants of health. They must also be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people and demonstrate experience in networking and stakeholder engagement.
