Senior AI Strategy Lead

This role is responsible for overseeing the department's strategic approach to artificial intelligence, encompassing the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide AI strategy. The successful candidate will lead the establishment and management of an AI advisory service, oversee AI proof-of-concept and pilot projects, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders on the effective utilization of AI technologies.

  • Data Governance: Ensuring accountability and stewardship of data across schools, early childhood education, corporate offices, and the Department.
  • Advanced Analytics: Leveraging data to inform evidence-based decision-making and improve educational outcomes.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI): Including Generative AI (Gen AI), to enhance operational processes and foster innovation.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex AI, analytics, and data governance projects in large government organizations.
  • Advanced understanding of AI technologies, including Gen AI, and their application in the public sector.
  • Strong grasp of data ethics and responsible AI principles, enabling the development and implementation of comprehensive AI or data governance frameworks.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields (e.g., Information Technology, Data Science) are highly desirable.
  • Equivalent experience will also be considered.
