We're currently recruiting for a AI / Machine Learning Specialistto lead the design and build of intelligent document processing (IDP) solutions for a major financial services client.
This is a hands-on contract role, working at the frontier of AI and automation to transform credit assessment processes.
What you'll do Build machine learning pipelines to process complex financial documents (structured, semi-structured and handwritten).
Apply Large Language Models (LLMs), OCR and enrichment techniques to extract, classify and structure data.
Ensure governance, auditability and explainability across all AI-driven outcomes.
Deploy solutions on Microsoft Azure (preferred) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS Bedrock) as appropriate.
Collaborate with engineering, Cloud Ops and security teams to align with standards.
Mentor and upskill offshore engineers, documenting approaches and frameworks.
Work directly with business stakeholders to validate proofs of concept and deliver operational solutions.
What we're looking for Strong knowledge of LLMs (Open AI, Claude or similar), prompt engineering and multi-stage orchestration.
Hands-on with cloud-native AI services (Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure Open AI, AWS Bedrock).
Programming background in Python (preferred) or.
NET.
Experience with OCR, text extraction, data formatting and validation pipelines.
Strong grounding in governance, audit trails and production-grade deployments.
Melbourne-based, with ability to work onshore and engage with stakeholders directly.
