Job Summary

The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. As part of our national team, you will work closely with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.

You will assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours, working towards increasing skills, improving emotion regulation, and introducing replacement behaviours to reduce restrictive practices.

Our focus on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and assessments centres around enhancing a person's quality of life, including improving their skills and independence. You will develop and implement plans with training and regular follow-ups and reviews.

Additionally, you will work in NDIS Psychology services, providing assessments and interventions across the lifespan and presenting various conditions. This role offers opportunities for training in specific psychological assessments, such as Autism and ADHD.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support plans to enhance client independence and skills
  • Assess and address participants' challenging behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Conduct assessments and provide interventions across the lifespan and presenting various conditions
Qualifications
  • NDIS Registration as a Behaviour Practitioner or ability to become registered
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA), Teaching, Social Work, Social Sciences, Criminology, Childhood Education & Care, Health Science, Allied Health, or Nursing
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex diagnoses desirable
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain one for a client-facing role
