Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electron Microscope Service Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our range of Electron Microscopes, Focused Ion Beam, and Surface Analysis systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, maintain, and repair our industry-leading products
  • Provide training for customers and users on system operation and maintenance
  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, users, and company personnel
  • Serve as the company liaison on technical matters for assigned systems and projects
  • Complete and submit field service reports
  • Provide feedback to product quality teams
  • Act as a subject expert and resource for training

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in Field Service Engineering in Electron Microscopy or a similar field is preferred
  • Candidates with no experience in a Field Service Engineering with exposure to Electron Microscopy are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is preferred
