Electron Microscope Field Service Engineer Position

About the Role:

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an experienced Electron Microscope Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing Thermo Fisher's range of Electron Microscopes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of Electron Microscopes
  • Maintenance and repair of Electron Microscopes
  • Providing training to customers and users on system operation and maintenance
  • Cultivating positive relationships with customers, users and company personnel
  • Serving as liaison on technical matters for assigned systems and projects
  • Completing and submitting field service reports
  • Providing feedback to product quality teams
  • Updating and correcting documentation as required
  • Acting as subject matter expert and resource for training

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience in Field Service Engineering in Electron Microscopy or similar field is preferred
  • Candidates with no experience in Field Service Engineering but exposure to Electron Microscopy are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is beneficial

  • Strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to read and interpret schematics and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems
  • Able to work with and repair mechanical systems
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve PC and software issues
  • Able to balance multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Able to set priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively within a small team
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Able to deal effectively with customers at all levels

Salary:$90,000 - $110,000 per annum

Location:This position is based in Sydney, Australia, however travel may be required to other locations throughout Australia and internationally.
