Job Opportunity

  • The Executive Director of Aged Care will oversee the provision of aged care services delivered by the organisation, including residential sites, independent living units and community-based services.
  • This leader will participate in a network across key initiatives in aged care, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred care for all older people.
  • They will prepare the organisation for current reform changes and strategically position it as a key provider of aged care into the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of approximately 160 staff members and manage resources effectively across 6 residential Aged Care facilities (174 beds), Transitional Care Program beds and a range of home-based Aged Care services.
  • Develop and implement the strategic direction and governance of clinical and care standards, compliance, and accreditation.
  • Manage workforce, human resources, and organisational development across multiple sites and teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders and the community, including advocacy for consumer-centred care and resident rights.
  • Identify and manage risks and emergency preparedness in aged care operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven executive leadership experience in aged care, health, or human services with demonstrated ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills, ensuring efficient service delivery and achievement of targets while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Experience managing resources effectively and leading teams through complex change in alignment with Aged Care reforms.
  • Qualifications as a Registered Nurse with current registration.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, contemporary aged care service delivery models, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to lead organisational change, service improvement, and compliance reform.
  • Skills in financial and operational management, including budget development and reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills, including community consultation and advocacy.
  • Knowledge of workforce development, industrial relations, and employee wellbeing strategies in complex care environments.
