About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Ancillary Product Specialist to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a key member of our digital team, you'll play a crucial role in driving revenue growth through the optimization of our flight ancillary products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize Digital Conversion: Analyze shopping behaviors and influence booking workflows to increase digital conversion across our ancillary product portfolio.
  • Enhance Ancillary Products: Identify opportunities to strengthen the customer proposition by enhancing our ancillary products.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a subject matter expert for our baggage and fee portfolios, providing in-depth knowledge and guidance to the team.
  • Financial and Operational Performance: Manage financial and operational performance to agreed specifications, ensuring the success of our ancillary product portfolio.
  • Attachment Rate Growth: Increase attachment rates across all distribution channels of our ancillary product portfolio.
  • New Product Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding of new ancillary products, ensuring a seamless integration into our digital platforms.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Contribute to the development of our merchandising strategy and priorities, driving revenue growth through data-driven insights.
  • Tactical Roadmap Initiatives: Collaborate with the Ancillary Merchandising and Tactical Manager to design, brief, and execute tactical roadmap initiatives to increase ancillary revenue.
  • Competitor Market Analysis: Review product types and competitor markets to formulate an optimal digital selling proposition.
  • Customer Feedback: Act upon customer feedback, contributing to improved customer experience and increased likelihood to recommend metrics across digital touchpoints and specific product areas.
  • Performance Management Reporting: Contribute to performance management reporting, providing data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
  • Innovation and Partnerships: Actively seek opportunities to innovate with partners, improving guest experience (NPS), reducing costs, and creating growth opportunities.
Requirements
  • Digital Purchasing Behavior: Knowledge of best practice digital purchasing behavior and merchandising techniques to maximize conversion rates.
  • E-commerce Experience: 2+ years of experience in an e-commerce role in the airline or travel industry.
  • EMD and Ancillary Products: Understanding of EMDs and ancillary products within the GDS space.
  • Opportunity Development: Ability to assess and develop opportunities to drive positive VA outcomes.
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrated results in highly commercial environments, with developing commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Relationship Management: Solid relationship and portfolio management skills, with proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and navigate complex organizational accountabilities.
  • Business Improvement: A planned and systematic approach to business improvement, relying on detailed analysis and collaboration to produce specific outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex thoughts and ideas clearly.
