Job Summary

As a key member of our team, the Estimator plays a critical role in driving business growth through effective cost estimation and tendering. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your analytical and communication skills to make a real impact.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for civil projects, working closely with project managers, construction managers, and engineers to develop construction methodologies and non-price submission information.

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for various civil construction projects and present them for management review;
  • Collaborate with in-house P6 planners to develop draft construction programs;
  • Maintain close working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution;
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, identifying opportunities and nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients to drive growth.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction or a related field;
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating civil construction and earthworks from first principles (3+ years);
  • Experience tendering government work for agencies such as TfNSW, WaterNSW, up to the values of $100m - $200m;
  • Knowledge of concrete construction and remediation;
  • Previous site experience of 4-5 years with a Tier 1 / Tier 2 construction contractor;
  • An extensive network of contacts across Australia;
  • Experience with Expert Estimation estimating software package;
  • A proven record of success.
