Estimator Job Description

As a skilled Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets in collaboration with project teams. You will manage tendering and procurement processes, including preparing documentation and evaluating bids.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. They should have demonstrated experience as an Estimator in civil construction and remediation projects.

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Manage tendering and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Contract Management: Administer and negotiate contracts, ensuring variations and claims are managed effectively.
  • Budget Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project budgets, track costs, and provide clear financial reporting.
  • Value Engineering: Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Risk & Compliance: Conduct cost risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Strong Numerical Accuracy: Accurately prepare and manage financial data.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with clients, internal teams, and consultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Utilize Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of remediation practices, public infrastructure works, and local authority project requirements.
