Estimator Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tenders for civil projects in Australia.

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Engineers to develop construction methodologies and non-price submission information.
  • Develop accurate tenders within deadlines, present for management review, and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Develop close working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, identifying opportunities, and nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates from first principles, utilizing knowledge of concrete construction and remediation.
  • Conduct site visits, liaise with project stakeholders, and develop draft construction programs in consultation with P6 Planners.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with the project team, ensuring smooth execution of projects.
Requirements:

Qualified applicants should possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating civil construction and earthworks (3+ years).
  • Experience tendering government work for agencies such as TfNSW and WaterNSW.
  • Expertise in Expert Estimation software package.
  • A proven track record of success in similar roles.
