Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Subsea Controls Engineer to join our team in Perth, AU.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and governance to activities related to the control system install base within the APAC Region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute scopes aligned with customer and project requirements and priorities.
  • Define Cost, Time, and Resource (CTR) requirements for engineering planning and forecasting.
  • Drive engineering and team activities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Increase regional ownership and accountability over APACI project execution, fostering autonomy and regional capacity.
  • Collaborate during design reviews, working with controlled titles at all project stages, contributing to risk assessments, and driving mitigation activities.
  • Assess manpower needs for offshore installations, including skill gap analysis, providing planning support, reviewing procedures, and leading offshore teams during commissioning and start-up.
  • Ensure deliverables meet customer specifications, regional technical regulations, and standards for Australia.
  • Review and approve product clarifications, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support and leadership during business and non-business hours, including rota-based 24/7 on-call support.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering, Industrial Computer Systems Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience in the subsea industry or related services.
  • Expertise in SCADA systems, PLC operations, instrumentation design and operation.
  • Experience with subsea control systems, including software development and communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of operational requirements for DCS, MCS, PCDMs, SCMs, SEMs, HPUs, XTs, and umbilicals.
  • Experience with EPC project control system design, testing, commissioning, and offshore startup activities.
