Subsea Control Technician Role

The position of a Subsea Control Technician plays a pivotal role in the offshore Oil and Gas drilling and production systems, overseeing the inspection, analysis, assembly, and testing of complex subsea controls equipment.

This technician requires exceptional technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5+ years of experience in hydraulic fitting, instrument technology, and knowledge of PLC systems and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting assembly blueprints accurately
  • Conducting visual inspections on subsea equipment and identifying wear and faults as per standard operating procedures
  • Assembling electrical and mechanical subsea components as per company guidelines
  • Performing safe pressure testing, leak testing, and flushing of control systems to meet industry standards
  • Completing SRI, SRT, and FAT of Subsea Controls equipment
  • Identifying and resolving issues with electrically and mechanically faulty control systems
  • Utilizing Subsea Topside software programs to manage subsea devices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical expertise and attention to detail
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities
  • At least 5+ years of experience in hydraulic fitter, instrument technician
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and control systems
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written
