Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Subsea Controls Engineer to join our team in Perth, Australia. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and leadership to activities related to the subsea control system install base within the APAC Region.

About the Role:

  • Develop and execute project scopes aligned with customer requirements and priorities.
  • Define cost, time, and resource (CTR) requirements for engineering planning and forecasting.
  • Drive engineering and team activities to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality results.
  • Increase regional ownership and accountability over project execution, fostering autonomy and regional capacity.
  • Collaborate during design reviews, working with controlled titles at all project stages, contribute to risk assessments, and drive mitigation activities.
  • Assess manpower needs for offshore installations, including skill gap analysis, provide planning support, review procedures, and lead offshore teams during commissioning and start-up.
  • Ensure deliverables meet customer specifications, regional technical regulations, and standards.
  • Review and approve product clarifications, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support and leadership during business and non-business hours, including 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience in the subsea industry or related services.
  • Expertise in SCADA systems, PLC operations, instrumentation design and operation.
  • Experience with subsea control systems, including software development and communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of operational requirements for DCS, MCS, PCDMs, SCMs, SEMs, HPUs, XTs, and umbilicals.
  • Experience with EPC project control system design, testing, commissioning, and offshore startup activities.
