Job Description

As a seasoned Return to Work Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding individuals with mental injuries back into the workforce. Your expertise will play a crucial role in facilitating effective return-to-work strategies and providing coaching and mentoring to claims managers.

You will work closely with our claims teams and mental health hub to develop innovative approaches to assisting injured workers with mental injuries to return to work safely. This includes engaging with employers and treating health practitioners to positively influence and encourage participation in the return-to-work process.

  • Taking the lead on influencing and driving return to work on high-risk cases.
  • Managing return-to-work aspects of allocated mental injury cases.
  • Utilizing your knowledge and skills in return to work and mental injury management to drive optimal return-to-work outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Driving and monitoring the Return to Work measure for a specific portfolio.
  2. Attending and participating in Case Conferencing, where necessary.
  3. Complying with relevant legislative requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Recent experience within worker's compensation agents or personal injury industry as a Return to Work Coordinator / Manager, Case Manager, Mental Injury Specialist or Occupational Rehabilitation Provider.
  • An understanding of common mental injuries, treatment options, and medical terminology.
  • Experience in managing complex Return to Work cases through early identification of Return to Work barriers and implementation of effective strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
