This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and dedicated team making a tangible difference for vulnerable people.
We are seeking a qualified Counsellor or Case Manager to join our Men's Behaviour Change Program based in Nowra.
The successful candidate will be undertaking a range of Counselling and Group work services associated with the program, aiming to increase the well-being and safety of women and children.
- Key responsibilities include ensuring the best possible outcome for clients by holding men accountable for their use of violence and supporting them to change their behaviour.
- The role requires establishing strong network links within the local area to provide external referral pathways.
- Developing resources to promote and advertise the service to clients, local forums, and other community organisations is also essential.
- Maintaining a full client caseload while working within funding guidelines and program targets is crucial.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, or related behavioural sciences.
- A NSW Drivers Licence and a full insured vehicle are necessary for this position.
- Registration with the appropriate body, such as PACFA for counselling or working towards registration, is also required.
- Training and clinical experience in working with perpetrators of domestic and family violence are highly valued.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Previous demonstrated experience in assessment and counselling, as well as group facilitation, is preferred.
