About The Role

Anglicare has an exciting opportunity for a Provisional Mental Health Practitioner to join our Shoalhaven Mental Health Hub team on a full-time basis in Nowra.

The aim of this role is to provide assessment, information, referrals, mental health support, psychoeducation and participate in intentional outreach for engaging and assisting clients presenting with low to moderate intensity mental health needs and/or emotional distress in line with the Head to Heath service model and local needs.

This is a permanent fulltime role based at Nowra.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Provide short to medium-term therapeutic support through the provision of mental health supports, client advocacy, and referral pathways.
- Work with clients to build personal capacity and support clients in working towards identification and realisation of goals, increased access health and other community services support with the goal of becoming more independent and socially integrated.
- Offer digital mental health services and referrals.
- Work collaboratively with the team to involve the voice of relevant lived experience in service design and delivery.
- Ensure the cultural beliefs and practices of clients are respected and maintained.
- Promote the program to relevant stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the team to devise strategies to engage with clients in need of services and establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
- Link clients to after-hours support.
- Participate in events collaborations and partnerships with organisations as directed by manager.
- Participate in workplace consultation and communication activities
- Ensure documentation including case notes meet standards and agreed requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Anglicare and program process and policies

Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in tertiary qualification applicable to role - e.g.: Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology and registration with relevant professional body.
- Mental health and/or suicide prevention experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and a willingness to drive between sites as required.
- Current WWCC, National Police Check and appropriate Clinical Registration.
