**What you'll be doing**
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Peer Worker will draw upon their personal lived experience with a mental health issue to provide recovery oriented interventions, lived experience counsel and advocacy to consumers, carers, and multidisciplinary staff across the district. The position works with consumers in both an individual and group setting to facilitate recovery through the development of skills, strengths and capacity for successful independent community living.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Personal lived experience of a mental illness, with willingness and demonstrated ability to utilise the lived experience to support others in their own mental health recovery journey.
- Certificate IV in Peer Work (or enrolled in and currently studying Cert IV Peer Work).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Recent experience as a peer worker in Mental Health setting (student placement experience will be considered)
- Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of Mental Health Recovery principles into day to day practice..
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current NSW Driver's License (Class C - unrestricted).
