
Financial Dispute Specialist

This role supports a leading consultancy's dispute resolution practice, focusing on assisting clients with financial, accounting and economic issues in litigation and other disputes. The practice is led by experienced practitioners within a global consultancy. This role is based in the Sydney office.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare damages assessments, valuations, analyze technical accounting issues, prepare economic analyses and conduct financial investigations.
- Prepare complex financial models in Microsoft Excel, including DCF analyses.
- Draft high-quality experts' reports and other deliverables.
- Work directly with some of Australia's leading litigators and expert witnesses.
- Develop relationships, internally and externally.
- Begin the journey toward potentially becoming an expert witness.
- Is a newly promoted Manager, an Assistant Manager/Supervisor, or a very experienced Senior Consultant/Senior Analyst at a well-regarded professional services firm, preferably in a forensic or disputes practice. Prior experience in valuations, transaction services, or a corporate role with a return to professional services may also be suitable.
- Has completed their postgraduate qualification (CA preferred) or is on track to do so in the next 12 months.
- Has strong analytical skills with experience in building financial models.
- Has a flexible problem-solving approach, can apply legal and financial principles across contexts, and demonstrates critical thinking and good judgment.
- Has strong report writing and communication skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely for the audience.
- Can work autonomously and manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
