Job Overview

Qantas Group seeks an experienced Senior Legal Director to provide high-quality legal advice and support to various business units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing in-depth analysis and practical guidance on operational, regulatory, procurement, and commercial matters.
  • Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts while ensuring alignment with Qantas Group's risk framework.
  • Preparing submissions and advising on regulatory and other matters.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate, regulatory, or commercial law disciplines.
  • Training in a top-tier law firm or equivalent. Additional in-house experience in a large company is considered advantageous.
  • A Law degree with a current Practising Certificate in New South Wales or Victoria.
  • Proven experience in corporate/commercial law, particularly contract drafting and negotiating, commercial advice, complex transactions, litigation, regulatory safety & environment, privacy, consumer, competition, intellectual property, and technology.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective negotiation and influencing capabilities.
  • Sound organisational and time management skills, allowing prioritisation of tasks and meeting deadlines under pressure.
