About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see you join the leadership team of the Wealth Management Business as a Senior Legal Director. As part of this role, you will provide expert legal advice to the CEO, senior management, and the Board of Directors, managing legal risks affecting the company and leading the Legal and Company Secretariat team.

Job Description
  • Provide legal advisory services to the CEO, senior management, and the Board of Directors, offering expert and strategic legal advice on various matters.
  • Manage legal risk by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential legal issues that may impact the company.
  • Lead and manage the Legal and Company Secretariat team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in law and current NSW practicing certificate or admission to practice as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • At least 15 years' experience as a senior lawyer, preferably with extensive experience leading a team.
  • Significant experience providing advice in relation to financial services law.
  • A proven track record in managing corporate governance and company secretarial functions.
  • Experience negotiating general commercial agreements, including custody administration and investment management agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
