We have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team in Sydney and are currently seeking a Senior Legal Director for Business Growth to drive strategic legal initiatives.

As a Senior Legal Director for Business Growth at VGW, you will lead and manage key business areas, providing expert legal guidance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating risks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic legal advice on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital, and other complex transactions, including corporate structuring, due diligence, negotiation, documentation, and integration.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and minimize risks in business activities.
  • Offering strategic legal guidance on market expansion, new product launches, and other business development initiatives.
  • Staying informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and proactively advising management on potential legal implications.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience with relevant expertise at a top-tier law firm or relevant in-house experience.
  • Admission as a lawyer to practice in Australia.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A high degree of commercial acumen to understand the company's key drivers.
  • Demonstrated adherence to a high standard of professional principles to ensure honesty, integrity, and ethical decision-making.
