Senior Production Engineer Role

The Senior Production Engineer will oversee the setup of materials, personnel, and equipment required for building new products on the production line. This includes ensuring scalability from the outset.

This role involves close collaboration with the project manager, purchasing, production engineers, R&D, and the production manager to achieve company goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing electronics diagnostics and repairs on production electronic components and subassemblies, or providing instructions for technicians to repair products.
  • Conducting root cause analysis on material failures at incoming goods, production failures, and customer returns to determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions to minimize scrap and improve product quality.
  • Supporting the production team by providing technical expertise to minimize stoppages and meet targets through daily updates and formal training sessions or workshops.
  • Verifying the suitability of production jigs and equipment before use in production.
  • Inspecting the first batch of new or modified components or assemblies in production.
  • Implementing and training staff on new products in production.
  • Assessing new products for manufacturability and recommending design changes, production processes, suppliers, and equipment to R&D for scaled manufacturing.
  • Researching manufacturing processes, evaluating their potential to meet production goals, and engaging with suppliers to build mutually beneficial relationships.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Systems, with 4+ years of relevant experience. Established professional relationships with suppliers and experience in assembly and fabrication of advanced electronic products are also necessary.
