Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Sydney. This full-time, Monday-to-Friday role is ideal for someone with strong CMMS experience (MEX preferred) and a passion for continuous improvement.

In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the implementation of innovative new products and processes, while driving enhancements to existing products manufactured at our operations.

You'll report to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for:

  • Attending weekly planning meetings and liaising with relevant departments to ensure required machines are available for routine maintenance.
  • Installing and commissioning new machines as required.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager with fitters and electricians on site for day-to-day tasks (work orders and PMs).
  • Booking and managing third-party contractors who provide service to our operations in line with the Preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Issuing monthly PMs to the maintenance team and ensuring all work is closed off prior to its due date.
  • Driving Lean initiatives and developing reports to use visual aids, Problem Solving, 6S, and other Lean tools.
  • Managing preventive-maintenance and utilities routine-maintenance on site with contractors.
  • Managing spare parts, consumables inventory through MEX.
  • Managing calibrations schedule.
  • Managing and driving relevant projects/machine improvement.
  • Ensuring the quality of the product and service within the factory is maintained at the highest possible standards.
  • Abiding by the Health and Safety policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices.
  • Consulting with the engineering team for all technical-related tasks.
  • Being a backup to maintenance technicians during leave periods, if required.
  • Covering the Maintenance Manager when absent from the site.
  • Working with the production team to complete the technical aspects of machine setting.
  • Using MEX to enter all details of company assets, maintenance tasks, spare parts, suppliers, and maintenance schedule, and ensuring maintenance technicians are using MEX to document daily tasks.
  • This role may require some after-hours calls to support production and continue business operations.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager with controlling the R&M budget.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications
  • Restricted Electrical Licence (desirable) for Mechanical Trade
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance and machine setting, preferably in a TGA/GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Experience of machines in production process
  • Experience of Maintenance Computerized system (e.g., MEX)
  • Experience in managing situations with tight quality and efficiency parameters
  • Experience with machine installation & commissioning
  • Experience with mechanical fault finding
  • Experience in managing, training and developing teams
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office packages
