Microbiologist Role

As a highly skilled Microbiologist, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for diagnostic testing and research within the microbiology department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex diagnostic testing using manual and automated methods.
  • Conduct routine procedures from specimen reception to execution of results for pathological diagnosis.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock control.
  • Ensure accurate records maintenance and recording of results in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain and operate equipment in line with manufacturer instructions and laboratory protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with current scientific knowledge and advancements in the field.
  • Participate in both routine and audit-related quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to the development of new assays and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train staff members on laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results and referrals as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in microbiological testing and research.
  • Sound understanding of quality control and troubleshooting procedures.
