Research Position in Water Microbiology

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a Research Fellow position in water microbiology.

This role offers the opportunity to join a vibrant research community and contribute to high-impact projects focused on water microbiology, bioinformatics, and health-related research areas.

We are seeking an outstanding researcher with expertise in one or more relevant research areas, such as microbiology, bioinformatics, or health-related water microbiology. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research outputs, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring graduate students.

About the Role

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Contribute to the development of research projects and proposals aligned with the School's strategic priorities;
  • Lead or participate in research teams, collaborating with internal and external partners;
  • Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyse data, and publish research findings in top-tier journals;
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for knowledge translation and dissemination;
  • Mentor and supervise graduate students, fostering their research skills and career development;

Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must hold a PhD in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related discipline. A record of research outcomes, including publications, coursework, professional experience, and/or awards is also essential. Demonstrated research expertise in water microbiology, bioinformatics, or health-related research areas is required. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, are highly valued.
