Project Manager Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead operational projects in the aviation industry.

You will oversee and execute transformation initiatives that drive measurable value across operations through structured project delivery, business process optimization, and data-driven decision-making.

The team governs and accelerates a portfolio of transformation initiatives that are hypothesis-driven, financially grounded and with delivery embedded in business line management.

  • Guide initiatives through our transformation lifecycle
  • Track initiative progress using established dashboards and enforce cadence for gate reviews
  • Contribute to development of the transformation roadmap by defining executable initiatives
  • Support roadmap development workshops and documentation of initiative value hypotheses
  • Support the transition of initiatives from the transformation office into accountable delivery within line operations
  • Track whether initiatives maintain traction post-handoff and raise risks if execution falters
  • Ensure disciplined, accurate, and complete reporting across several initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Economics, Commerce, Mathematics / Statistics, Aviation, etc.)
  • 3-5+ years in professional services or consulting firms shaping business transformation initiatives (e.g. Big 4 or other consulting firms), or experience in business transformation roles
  • High analytical acumen with ability to synthesise data into actionable insights
  • Stakeholder management skills across technical and operational teams
  • Experience with defining or delivering initiatives in operational environments
  • Highly proficient in Excel (or equivalent) for benefit modelling
  • Familiarity with industrial economics concepts (i.e. unit cost modelling) is advantageous

Key responsibilities include leading, designing and executing discrete transformation initiatives, guiding initiatives through the transformation lifecycle, tracking initiative progress, contributing to the development of the transformation roadmap, supporting roadmap development workshops and documentation of initiative value hypotheses, supporting the transition of initiatives from the transformation office into accountable delivery within line operations, tracking whether initiatives maintain traction post-handoff and raising risks if execution falters, and ensuring disciplined, accurate, and complete reporting across several initiatives.

Suitable candidates will possess tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, 3-5+ years of experience in professional services or consulting firms, high analytical acumen, stakeholder management skills, experience with defining or delivering initiatives in operational environments, and proficiency in Excel for benefit modelling.
