About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader Library Support Services to join our team at Georges River Council. As a key member of our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, customer-focused services, research, programs, and collections.

As a Team Leader, you will lead the team responsible for providing welcoming spaces and customer interactions at our branch libraries, as well as staff training and roster management. You will be part of the Library Customer Experience leadership team, supporting staff skills development and excellent customer experiences across all library service points.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at Hurstville Library, with the possibility of working at other locations as required. We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, 9-day fortnight, health and wellbeing leave, and access to our Fitness Passport Program.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science or equivalent
  • Current Working with Children check
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining staff rosters or work schedules for multiple staff
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a quality customer-focused service
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for staff
  • Demonstrated analytical, time management, organisational, financial, project management, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising a team, including an ability to provide performance feedback, guide others through change, and implement innovative approaches
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including effective negotiation, consultation, and consensus building
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as content management systems and technology in a public library or equivalent setting
