**About the Role**
As a team leader within our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will lead the team responsible for engaging our diverse community with library services, outreach programs,
deliveries and the ongoing development of special collections.
In this role you will develop, deliver and evaluate targeted collections and services that support the educational and recreational needs of the diverse community in the Georges River area. This role is responsible for promoting engagement with library resources and developing, delivering and evaluating training programs to support staff knowledge of the collection and methods to effectively engage library customers.
This role is primarily based at **Hurstville Library** and will involve other locations as required.

- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science or equivalent
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)
- Demonstrated experience developing, planning and delivering high quality training programs to customers and staff
- Demonstrated understanding of current public library collection trends
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing library collection development strategies including evaluation of the performance of collections and suppliers
- Strong commitment and proven ability to deliver a high quality, customer focused library service
- Demonstrated analytical, time management, organisational, financial, project management and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in supervising a team, including an ability to provide performance feedback, guide others through change and implement innovative approaches
- Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including effective negotiation, consultation and consensus building
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as content management systems and technology in a public library or equivalent setting
**Desirable**
- Leadership experience in local government
- Leadership experience in a public library
- Experience delivering Readers’ Advisory programs
