Academic Governance Officer

This is a key role within the University Secretary's Office, providing high-quality secretariat and governance support to the Academic Council and its Executive, as well as other high-level committees and sub-committees of the University.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as Executive Officer to the Academic Council and its Executive, and other committees as directed, including managing the organisation of meetings and producing committee papers.
- Provide governance advice and support to Chairs, Executive Officers of academic governance committees, and senior staff on matters relating to Academic Council functions.
- Research and prepare reports as required, including updates to governance and policy documents.
- Apply and maintain appropriate and consistent systems, including document control and records management.
- A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
- Administrative, secretariat and/or governance experience supporting committees or executive functions in a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience of governance processes within higher education.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral.
