Job Title: Strategic Engagement Specialist

Location: Sydney, AU

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Engagement Specialist to lead our communications/public affairs engagement with stakeholders and key sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans, managing media relations, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in public relations, journalism, communications, or marketing, with at least 10 years of experience in similar roles. They will also have proven competence in conducting interviews, digital media management, and stakeholder development.

In addition to their technical skills, the candidate should have excellent writing and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a deep understanding of the humanitarian aid circuit and the ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies that align with our organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans to engage stakeholders and key sectors.
  • Manage media relations and respond to media inquiries.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community leaders.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to inform communications strategies.
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote our organization's work.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing.
  • At least 10 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in the humanitarian aid sector.
  • Proven competence in conducting interviews, digital media management, and stakeholder development.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
