National Cancer Navigation Stakeholder Engagement Expert

Cancer Council Australia is part of the national Cancer Council Federation, focused on reducing the impact of cancer through research, prevention, and support. We work alongside the community, health professionals, and government to provide trusted information and services to those affected by cancer.
We're seeking a skilled Director of Engagement to lead our national stakeholder engagement strategy for the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program (ACNNP). This key role will shape conversations around cancer navigation and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders.
About the RoleThis senior leadership position will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a National stakeholder engagement strategy aligned with project goals.
- Representing the organisation in national forums, media, conferences, and sector events, ensuring consistent messaging.
- Maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, ACNNP partners, and cancer sector organisations.
- Providing expert advice to senior leaders on stakeholder insights, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensuring alignment with the 10-Year Australian Cancer Plan and contributing to long-term sustainability.
You'll be a seasoned leader with experience in strategic stakeholder engagement, passionate about driving positive social impact. You'll have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent the organisation confidently in various environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading national stakeholder engagement in complex health sectors, with a proven track record of influencing policy decisions.
- Comprehensive understanding of cancer support needs and experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with experience representing organisations in media and public settings.
- Strategic thinker able to translate complex issues into compelling narratives and recommendations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and cross-sector collaboration.
