Job Title: Crisis Intervention Specialist

As a dedicated Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide vital support to individuals and families affected by traumatic and violent events.

Job Description

The Crisis Intervention Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering acute trauma intervention services in the home and community. This includes conducting trauma screenings and assessments, as well as providing Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention and Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Our specialist will also offer practical and emotional support to family members and witnesses of traumatic or violent events, ensuring they receive the care and resources they need to heal and move forward.

In addition to these critical responsibilities, the Crisis Intervention Specialist will collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, and other community agencies to coordinate care and services. They will work closely with clients to develop safety plans, understand the potential impacts of incidents on children, and connect them to resources for navigating the criminal justice process.

Other essential duties include participating in community responses to schools and communities after violent incidents, assisting with trauma-informed diagnostic screenings and assessments, and helping families plan for safety and address needs arising from acute traumatic events.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, with a minimum of one year professionally supervised work in mental health, chemical dependency, and/or social services.
  • Must have either an LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC licensure.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance.
