The Crisis Intervention Specialist is a vital role in providing acute trauma intervention services in the home and community. This includes trauma screening, assessment, Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
This specialist offers practical and emotional support to family members and witnesses of traumatic or violent events, helping them navigate the aftermath and find stability.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver acute trauma intervention services in the home and community, working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop personalized plans.
- Provide trauma screening and assessment for individuals affected by traumatic or violent events, identifying areas where support is needed most.
- Offer practical and emotional support to family members and witnesses, connecting them with resources and services to aid in their recovery.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, and other community agencies to coordinate care and services, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
- Help families plan for safety and understand potential impacts of incidents on children, coordinating with other responders and systems to ensure comprehensive support.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, with a minimum of one year professionally supervised work in mental health, chemical dependency, and/or social services.
- Must have either an LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC licensure, demonstrating expertise in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and proof of insurance, ensuring safe transportation for clients and staff.
