Carpentry Specialist

As a skilled Carpenter, you will be responsible for carrying out various carpentry works and related duties safely and to high standards. This includes effective communication with colleagues, planning, and organisation of work, as well as performing calculations and measurements of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with occupational health and safety procedures, requirements, and policies, including tool handling and safety equipment use.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and plan work properly.
  • Conduct accurate calculations and measurements of materials.
  • Properly handle and stack carpentry tools and materials.
  • Analyse and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Carry out levelling operations and set out areas.
  • Perform excavation and concreting to simple forms.
  • Construct ceiling frames, wall frames, roofs, eaves, floors, and install wet area fixtures.
  • Install windows, doors, door frames, construct stairs using levels or other equipment.
  • Erect scaffolding for building structures above ground levels and wear proper safety equipment while working at heights.
  • Identify defective or damaged structures.
  • Ensure the worksite is clean and free from debris.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • AQF Certificate III in Carpentry.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and manage stress.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal hours when required.
