Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality prosecution services to the Queensland Police Service, providing legal advice on court matters and overseeing subordinate staff.
  • Lead a team of over fifty staff in the Gold Coast Police Prosecution Corps, promoting exceptional performance and conduct.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive briefs of evidence for summary trials and committal proceedings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including police, legal professionals, government agencies, and the community, to drive desired policing outcomes.
  • Develop and present compelling legal research, arguments, submissions, opinions, and advice.
  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve operational objectives.
Requirements
  • Admission as, eligibility for immediate admission as, or entitlement to practice as, a legal practitioner in the State of Queensland.

The successful candidate will coordinate activities for Specialist Courts and diversionary initiatives directed by the Superintendent.
