The Opportunity

We have two opportunities for diligent individuals to operate and run Council's roadside weed spraying program to apply herbicides along the Bega Valley's road network and reserves.

Role responsibilities
  • Operate plant and equipment used for weed control on roadsides and public lands.
  • Maintain comprehensive, organised records and mapping to identify biosecurity matter extent, density and control.
  • Support the management of priority weed species and conduct treatments as required.
About You / Licences and Qualifications
  • Current NSW Class C and LR or higher Driver Licence
  • HLTAID003 – First Aid
  • RIIWHS206 – Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
  • AHCCHM3037 – Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases
  • AHCCHM304 – Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals
Experience
  • Two (2) years relevant experience in on-ground high-volume weed control.
  • Demonstrated weed control techniques using vehicle-mounted pressurised applicators, backpack units and cut and paint methods.
  • Sound knowledge of Bega Valley Council's Road system.

  • Remuneration from $74,730.42 gross per annum (including base salary and superannuation).
