Job Overview

This is a unique opportunity to work in a challenging environment as a Weed Control Specialist.

The selected candidate will be responsible for operating plant and equipment used for weed control on roadsides and public lands, ensuring effective management of biosecurity threats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive records and mapping to identify the extent, density, and control of biosecurity matters.
  • Support the management of priority weed species and conduct treatments as required.
Requirements
  • Current driver's license for NSW Class C and LR or higher.
  • HLTAID003 – First Aid certification.
  • RIIWHS206 – Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs.
  • AHCCHM3037 – Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds, and Diseases.
  • AHCCHM304 – Transport, Handle, and Store Chemicals.
Experience
  • Two years of relevant experience in high-volume weed control operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in weed control techniques using vehicle-mounted pressurised applicators, backpack units, and cut and paint methods.
  • Solid knowledge of road systems in the region.
