Key Academic Position

We are seeking a dedicated academic to join our Mechanical Engineering discipline as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and develop courses in various areas of mechanical engineering.

Main Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate students in areas such as submarine design, naval architecture, nuclear engineering, and thermal-fluids.
  • Conduct high-quality research in collaboration with a vibrant academic team working on naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, hydroacoustics, experiments, modelling and simulation, hydrodynamics, and energy technologies.
  • Engage with industry, government, and academic partners to drive innovation in nuclear and maritime sectors.
Essential Qualifications
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering.
  • Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths including hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, fluid processes in maritime and nuclear applications.
  • Record of research achievements as evidenced by publications in high-quality journals or conference proceedings.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop courses in nuclear and maritime engineering.
