Senior Manager, Defence Satellite Growth

At Optus, we're shaping the future by harnessing the power of technology and innovation. Our Defence and Commonwealth satellite portfolio is a key area of focus, and we're seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to drive growth and success.
This role requires a strong understanding of the Defence and Commonwealth sectors, as well as a proven track record in business development and sales. You'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and developing strategic plans to drive growth and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the Defence Satellite strategic plan and wider Commonwealth engagement
- Prospect, position, and close new incremental Defence Business for Optus Satellite
- Ensure existing contractual obligations and revenue generation are underpinned and continuously evolved
- Ensure Optus Satellite retains its position as the primary Sovereign Satellite Solutions provider to The Commonwealth
- Nurture and develop existing relationships within Defence & The Commonwealth as well as with internal peers
- Prepare and ensure accurate forecasts, pipelines, and budgets are available
- Identify and recommend areas for profitable and sustainable growth within their portfolio's capability to support Optus Satellite's overall strategy and overall product life cycle management
What We're Looking For
- Extensive years industry sales and/or business development experience
- Experience working with Defence or on Defence Accounts / BDM
- Experience in relationship/strategic selling - preferably in Satellite, Space environments
- Sound commercial and business acumen with experience in positioning value propositions to customers
- Proven track record in achieving sales growth through acquisition strategies and business development sales and customer loyalty through strong relationships
- A high level of general business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively at CTO, CIO, CFO, and CEO levels
- Must be an Australian Citizen (PR's unable to apply)
- Already possesses NV1 or higher security classification or ability to obtain
