A career as a Communications Electronic Technician with the Australian Defence Force offers a unique blend of technical expertise and operational involvement. You will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing ground-based radar systems, satellite communication systems, and surveillance equipment used by Air Traffic Controllers and Air Battle Managers.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing system checks to ensure equipment is in full working order
  • Maintaining and repairing various systems, including ground-based radar systems and satellite communication systems
  • Setting up remote communications

In addition, you may be responsible for ensuring equipment faults are fixed fast to keep operations running smoothly and for maintaining and repairing integrated communication systems such as High, Very High and Ultra-High Frequency radio systems.

We offer an estimated annual salary of $80,000 - $120,000 AUD, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for training and career progression within the organisation.

Training and Career Progression:

We provide comprehensive training from the ground up, teaching you everything you need to know to excel in this role during your Initial Employment Training (IET). You'll be paid for training, and receive a nationally recognised qualification upon completion.

Further courses are available to help you develop fault finding and problem-solving skills, and there's plenty of room to grow in this role. Your passion for electronics and problem solving will be rewarded with an exciting and rewarding career, all while helping to protect our country.
