Australia Post is seeking an experienced logistics professional to take on the challenging role of Operations Lead at the Melbourne Gateway Facility.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will lead a diverse operations team, including domestic and international operations, working closely with the Facility Operations Manager to steer processing and delivery operations within the facility. The primary focus will be on PM operations, servicing Australia Post's premium product Domestic Express Post and International Outbound processing.

This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, as shifts are managed by experienced AO5's (Operations Supervisors) who will provide support to the Operations Lead. The core objective of this role is to facilitate cost efficiency, safety standards, and drive key results during the PM shift and throughout the day.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance standards, working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure adherence to benchmarks during the 24-hour operation.
  • Support and drive changes aimed at managing costs and nurturing network and operational innovation using LEAN methodology and a Continuous Improvement lens.
  • Optimise the utilisation of automation assets and streamline parcel processing operations to cater to efficient functioning of Express Post and International services.
  • Manage staff allocation within operational shifts and ensure availability of equipment needed to complete work.
  • Lead change within a consultative framework, engaging stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

The Operations Lead will play a linchpin role in realising a cohesive, innovative, and efficient operational framework within the Melbourne Gateway Facility, ensuring seamless operations around the clock.
