Job Overview

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer plays a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability, stability, and performance of network services within a 24/7 operational environment.

  • Monitoring network infrastructure and services continuously for performance, availability, and stability is crucial to prevent service disruptions.
  • Prompt response to alerts enables quick assessment and resolution of issues.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network-related incidents and customer faults within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) is vital for maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Critical incidents may require escalation to higher-level support teams.
  • Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and customers regarding incident updates and resolutions ensures transparency and trust.
  • Providing accurate updates in the incident tracking tool facilitates informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration with relevant teams helps reduce the likelihood of incidents reoccurring.
  • Network maintenance, upgrades, impact analysis, and planned changes must be executed carefully to minimize operational impact.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Network monitoring and incident management are critical components of the NOC Engineer's role.
  • Process improvements enable efficient issue resolution and minimize downtime.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and customers fosters trust and understanding.

Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of experience in telecommunications, preferably with technical involvement.
  • Ability to monitor voice network systems using NMS tools and ticketing platforms.
  • Experience configuring and supporting voice hardware.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Asterisk, and Genesys platforms.
  • Strong understanding of network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
