Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with individuals who have experienced substance use and associated psychosocial issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support and guidance to individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Engage with clients through outreach, face-to-face interactions, and telehealth services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various programs to provide holistic support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders from diverse organizations.
  • Ensure client confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
  • Contribute to service planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data for reporting purposes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Lived experience of, and recovery from, harmful substance use.
  • Experience in providing peer support services to individuals across different age groups.
  • Ability to work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Tertiary qualifications in AOD and mental health or related fields.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills.
  • Facilitation and group-work expertise.
