About The Role

This Trainee Mentor and Development Coordinator role plays a crucial part in our team's success. As a key member, you will be responsible for coordinating our traineeship program, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive support and guidance to achieve their Certificate level qualification.

Your primary objectives include overseeing the onboarding process, coordinating training activities, and providing ongoing mentorship to foster trainees' growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the mentoring program for Indigenous Employment and Training Programs.
  • Regularly monitor trainees' progress through face-to-face and non-face-to-face interactions, guaranteeing safe and successful completion of traineeships.
  • Collaborate with employers to identify future workforce needs and explore potential employment opportunities.
  • Negotiate positive outcomes with managers when discrepancies arise between workplaces and trainees, resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including schools, job active networks, apprenticeship agencies, and RTOs, to facilitate the recruitment, enrollment, and successful completion of traineeships.
  • Foster connections and promote transparency across teams, IUIH, and networks to drive collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • National Police clearance.
  • A valid Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or willingness to apply.
  • A current Working with Disability Card (Yellow or NDIS Card) or willingness to apply.
  • A full driver's license.
  • Immunization history, demonstrating receipt of two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
  • Evidence of working rights.
  • A Medicare provider number.
  • Ability to travel between work sites regularly.
Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, we encourage applicants with a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or those willing to acquire this qualification to apply.
