Public Health Protector Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Environmental Health Officer to join our organization in a key role. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering regulatory compliance services to protect public safety, health, and the environment within the city.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of environmental health principles, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They will also possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent, along with prior experience issuing infringements and knowledge of local and state laws surrounding environmental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver regulatory compliance services to protect public safety, health, and the environment.
  • Investigate and resolve regulatory environmental and public health issues.
  • Provide technical advice to staff on environmental health matters.
  • Undertake duties outside normal working hours as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
  • Prior experience issuing infringements and knowledge of local and state laws surrounding environmental health.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
