Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Clinician

We are seeking a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist to lead an early intervention service for first episode psychosis, catering for young people up to 25 years old.
The successful applicant will work with the unit director, nursing unit manager (NUM), staff, and CYMHS colleagues to ensure the best match between inpatient clinical need and bed type across NSLHD for adolescents requiring inpatient care.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical management and treatment of patients under your care in NSLHD facilities.
- Lead in assessment and management of young people and families with first presentations of psychotic illness.
- Supervise registrars and participate in the CYMHS on-call roster.
- Collaborate with unit director, NUM, CYMHS colleagues, and external agencies to ensure appropriate inpatient care and bed allocation.
- Contribute to teaching, training, research, quality improvement, and patient safety activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with young people with mental health difficulties and be committed to providing high-quality, safe mental health services.
