Principal Coastal Engineer Job

This job opportunity is for a seasoned coastal engineer to lead the technical delivery of maritime projects, leveraging their expertise in design, evaluation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and evaluate ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures.
  • Develop concept designs through to construction phase support.
  • Project manage and/or design manage large maritime projects or teams within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Actively engage with clients, pursue and position for opportunities, and leverage existing connections to win work.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in coastal engineering, including design, evaluation, and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works, and marine structures.
  • Expertise in coastal modelling software, preferably DELFT-3D, SWAN, or MIKE.
  • Experience working with local governments, port clients, and/or the Defence sector.
  • Familiarity with Australian design codes and guidelines.
  • Ability to drive innovation, supervise, guide, and mentor colleagues.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain chartership within an agreed timeframe).
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
