
Disability Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing and grooming.
- Provide transportation assistance to clients.
- Offer respite care to clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients by following health and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with latest developments and best practices in the disability field.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
- Certificate 2 or 3/4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
- Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disability.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers and weekends.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic care and first aid skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
